Back to ThinkingConcept 10 · The one-off activity

The activity happened. The campaign never did.

An event, promotion or content launch was treated as the whole campaign. It ran, so it counted as done. But nothing gave people a reason to arrive, one clear next action, or anything worth carrying forward — so the activity ended exactly where it started. Activation has to recruit enough relevant people. Engagement has to move them through tactics that connect. Conversion has to measure the action you actually wanted. Amplification has to take what you learned and reuse it.

Activate. Engage. Convert. Amplify.

  1. 01ActivateRecruit enough of the right people to make the rest possible.
  2. 02EngageGive them something useful to do, not something to watch.
  3. 03ConvertMeasure the action you actually wanted.
  4. 04AmplifyReuse what worked, and what you learned, in the next thing.

An activity that skips a stage ends where it started.

The activity is the middle, not the campaign
