How do you make one regional system work across 15 countries and five languages?
New brand standards had to arrive across the region at the same time as communication was supposed to get more personal. Those two things pull in opposite directions.
The problem
Email across fifteen countries and five languages, with new brand standards to apply regionally and an ambition to speak to people one at a time rather than as a mailing list.
What we saw
Treating consistency as sameness would produce one message translated five times and relevant nowhere. Local customer behaviour, device and platform reality, and the next commercial action had to decide what changed in each market. Local teams needed real decisions to make, but decisions only work if the brand, the lifecycle and the way results are read are shared.
What we did
We built the shared part first: permission and acquisition, the context of where a customer is in their relationship with the airline, the customer and loyalty records, the next useful message, response measurement and refinement. Communications were tied to that relationship rather than to the campaign calendar. Testing was built in, so what a local team learned came back into the regional system instead of staying in one market. The output was the email communications and landing pages themselves, a dashboard, and recommendations on what to do next.
“Consistency is not sameness. Scale needs a shared system with local decisions.”
